Frequently Asked Questions

What are you payment options?
We accept Credit Cards (there is a 3% convience fee). To avoid the concience fee we recommend using your debit card, check or cash.

Do I need an appointment?

Absolutely, appointments are essential for trying on wedding gowns, bridesmaids, and tuxedo rentals. This ensures we can dedicate our full attention to each bride, groom, and their party. While we do our best to accommodate same-day bookings, scheduling your appointment through this website or calling ahead is the best way to secure a fitting room and consultant.

How long are appointments?
Our bridal appointments are thoughtfully scheduled for 1 to 1.30 hours, depending on whether it’s your first visit or a return. Bridesmaids appointments are set for 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on group size , while men’s formalwear appointments last 30 minutes. Given our smaller shop size, it’s important to stay within your allocated time, but follow-up appointments can always be arranged.

Can we take pictures?
Of course! We encourage anything that enhances your gown shopping experience. Feel free to bring your laptop to Skype with your mom or use our WiFi for FaceTime on your iPad.

How many people can I bring with me to my appointment?
For bridal gown appointments, we typically accommodate 2-4 guests per bride. If your party exceeds this, please let us know when scheduling. For bridesmaid appointments, we recommend bringing as many maids as possible to make the selection and ordering process smoother.

Are you accessible and/or stroller/child friendly?
Our shop is located in a charming historic brick home, which features tight doorways and some collections on the second floor. For anyone who may have difficulty with stairs, we suggest scheduling a weekday appointment for assistance on the first floor. We also advise against bringing young children due to safety concerns.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
We recommend wearing shaping garments and neutral underwear, along with heels similar to what you plan to wear on your wedding day. Stay open to different styles, and if you have gown or bridesmaid dress inspirations, please email them to us in advance.

What should I do if I'm running late?
Please call us to inform us of your estimated arrival time. Depending on our schedule, we may be able to extend your appointment. However, during peak periods, we might need to reschedule. Keeping us informed helps us accommodate your needs.

When should I order?
For optimal results, order your wedding gown 9-12 months before your wedding, allowing 4-6 months for production and additional time for alterations. For bridesmaids, aim for 6-9 months prior, as dresses can take up to 3 to arrive.

Don't have that much time?
No problem! Reach out to us about quick ship options. We also have discontinued sale gowns available for immediate purchase and take-home the same day.

What sizes do you carry in your collections?
Most of our wedding gowns are sampled in sizes 8, 10, and 12, with a few options in sizes 6 and 14. Our bridesmaid collection ranges from size 6-16, and men's formalwear jackets are sampled in size 40.

Do I need to leave a deposit to have my wedding gown ordered?
Yes, a 60% deposit is required for wedding gowns, with the remaining balance due within two weeks of arrival. For gowns purchased off the rack,  full payment is necessary at the time of purchase.

Do I to leave a deposit to have my bridesmaid gown ordered?
Full payment is required upon ordering bridesmaid dresses, which must be shipped or picked up within two weeks of arrival. A $15 shipping/handling fee will be added per gown.

Are the dresses custom made?
No, dresses are not made to your exact measurements. You’ll choose a color and style, then select a size based on bust, waist, and hip measurements. Lea Ann Belter wedding gowns however can be ordered with custom measurements. Alterations are typically expected upon receipt.

Are alterations included in the wedding gown price?
Alterations are not included in the price, as customization varies based on individual preferences and sizes.

Do you offer alterations at location?
While we do not have a seamstress on staff, we highly recommend Alterations by Sam, who operates her studio within our shop. You can reach her directly at 267-382-9256 or samsotos.sewing@gmail.com

When will the tuxedos/suits arrive for my wedding?
Most tuxedos/suits will arrive by Wednesday of your wedding week, and everyone will receive notifications via email and text. We prefer individual fittings rather than group pickups for a smoother experience.

Can I pick up my tuxedo the day of the wedding?
We strongly recommend against this. It’s essential for tuxedos to be tried on by Thursday to allow time for any necessary adjustments/reorders. If a rental is not tried on and you have fit issues, we can not be held responsible. If you have out-of-town guests, please inform us in advance to ensure a seamless process.
